Mundon is a tiny CM9 hamlet south of Maldon, sitting on the edge of the Blackwater salt marshes — famous locally for the Mundon Petrified Oaks, skeletal trees on the marsh that died centuries ago from saltwater flooding. Property here is farmhouses, post-war bungalows and a scatter of detached homes on the lanes toward Latchingdon.
Marshland exposure means salt residue on glass and frame seals, plus marsh debris in gutters. We use a gentler detergent on the salt-loaded glass to avoid clouding, and standard biocide treatment on roof tiles. 10 miles east of our Chelmsford base, on the Maldon round.
