Who we are

Hewitt’s Exterior Cleaning is a Limited Company (No. 16312417) registered in England & Wales. We’re a sole-operator window, gutter, roof and pressure-washing business serving Essex. The data controller is Jordan Hewitt.

What we collect

When you contact us through the website, WhatsApp or by phone, we collect only what we need to give you a quote and do the job:

• Your name
• Your postcode and property address
• Your phone number
• Your email (only if you give it)
• A brief note about the work you want done

If you pay by card we use a standard UK card processor; we never see or store your card number. Bank transfer payments only show your name and reference on our statement.

Why we collect it

• To reply to your enquiry and send a written quote
• To book and deliver the cleaning service you’ve agreed to
• To send before/after photos and reminders the night before a visit
• To raise an invoice and keep tax records

The legal basis is “legitimate interest” for enquiries and “contract” once you’ve booked a job.

Who we share it with

Nobody. We don’t sell your details, swap them, or pass them to marketing companies. The only places your data sits beyond our own phone and notebook are the providers we use to actually run the business:

• Google (Gmail) — for email replies
• Meta / WhatsApp — if you choose to message us there
• Our card processor — only if you pay by card
• HMRC — as required by UK tax law

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don’t turn into a job: 12 months, then deleted
• Job records (invoices, customer details, before/after photos): 6 years after the last job, in line with HMRC’s record-keeping rules, then deleted

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us at any time to:

• Tell you what we hold about you
• Correct anything that’s wrong
• Delete your record (unless we’re legally required to keep it — e.g. an invoice within the 6-year tax window)
• Stop processing it
